Surfcast — Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Surfcast (“we”, “operator”) provides the mobile application Surfcast (the “App”) for iOS / iPhone and iPad.

2. General
This policy describes how information may be processed when you use the App in early releases that do not include a user profile or AI-powered personal recommendations.
We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for cross-app tracking for advertising as part of the functionality described below.
3. What we do not intentionally collect (in these releases)
In the versions covered by this policy, we do not operate a user account system, do not maintain a server-side profile with fields such as name or email for the App, and do not send your inputs to third-party generative AI services for personalized recommendations.
If such features are added later, we will update this policy and the App before that processing begins, where required by law.
4. Location
The App may request access to your device’s location while you are using the App (“When In Use”) to show a forecast for your current location.
Permission is optional; you may still use the App by selecting a place on the map or using saved coordinates, depending on what that release supports.
Precise coordinates are used on the device and when the App requests forecast-related data over the network; they are not used to create a user account with us in these releases.
5. Local storage on your device
For convenience, the App may store on your device (for example in iOS user defaults) your last selected coordinates, an optional spot name if you choose one, and related local preferences for the forecast.
This information stays on your device and is not synced to our servers unless the App explicitly adds cloud sync (not included in these early releases).
Removing the App typically deletes this local data along with it; see Apple’s documentation for iOS for details.
6. Analytics and advertising
For the early releases described here, we do not integrate advertising analytics SDKs or use App Tracking Transparency to share advertising identifiers for those purposes.
If the software changes, this policy will be updated accordingly.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the App’s implementation and configuration. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
8. Children
The App is not directed at collecting information from children under 16. If you believe a child has contacted us with personal information, email balitideforecast@gmail.com.
9. Your rights (GDPR and similar)
Where applicable, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, object, and port data, and to complain to a supervisory authority.
For information that exists only on your device and is never received by us, we may not be able to act on a request; you can often clear that data in iOS settings or by deleting the App.
Requests relating to processing by third-party services should be directed to those providers where appropriate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The new version will be posted in the App under About and on this website at privacy.html with an updated date. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms where the law allows.
